Ansel Adams Birthday Celebration 2019

It is time for the annual birthday celebration of the legendary photographer, Ansel Adams, Each year, the Center for Creative Photography, home of the Ansel Adams Archive, sponsors a celebration of Adams' life, with presentations and print views from the Center's world-class collection of original prints. The event will also kick-off the opening of the exhibit, Ansel Adams: Examples, which will run February 23-May 4, 2019.
The festivities begin Friday night with an exclusive members-only reception in the Volkerding Study Center. with a special talk by Mark Burns, an archival material viewing, and get the first look at the Ansel Adams: Examples exhibition. Light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments will be served. Lastly, in honor of Ansel's fashion, bolo ties are encouraged and welcomed at this event. This event is $30 for CCP members, and $40 for the general public. Space is limited.
The Public Celebration is open to the general public on Saturday, February 23, from noon to 4:00pm, Admission is free. Attendees will be able to enjoy the opening of Ansel Adams: Examples, birthday cake, family activities, and hands-on vintage camera displays courtesy of the Western Photographic Historical Society. The afternoon will also feature a presentation by renowned photographer, Mark Burns.
Exhibition: Ansel Adams: Examples - February 23 - May 4, 2019
The Center for Creative Photography will present Ansel Adams: Examples, from February 23-May 4, 2019. This exhibit will present original prints and archival materials alongside text from the Adams' book of the same name, of some of Adams' most icon images as well as some lesser-known examples. Examples delves into Adams' thinking and processes behind many of his works.
